Introduction To The Course

Welcome!

It's my pleasure to welcome you to this unique short-form approach to meditation and spiritual mind management. Based on many years of psychological as well as spiritual exploration and research, this new method is both easy to learn - and also deeply fulfilling on many levels.

This Seven Masters One Path online course teaches the same basic meditation method as presented in my book by the same title. However, except for a bit of the historical discussion of the masters, all of the written material of this course is new. So if you've already read the book or plan to, you'll still find the written content of this site fresh and insightful. With minimum overlapping, I've taken time to express a level of reflection in this course that goes beyond my other writings.

  • I have also recorded unique guided audio classes for this online course. Each of the seven 10-minute guided meditations (listed on the left under Classes) is designed to be listened to a number of times, until you learn the process by heart!

You will also find much more unique content in this course that is not available elsewhere - this online course is intended as the heart of my meditation teaching.

A New Approach

My understanding of meditation is that it's something you do all the time - at work, at play, at home - to stay awake and aware and in deep connection with your greater source of consciousness and love. Meditation is the nutriant that keeps you fully human and totally participating in life. It's an all-the-time challenge and blessing.

Meditation is all about becoming more aware. Each moment, you are making mental choices that determine if your awareness level is low, or expanded. How you manage your awareness level is perhaps the most important thing yo do in your life..

  • This short-form meditation course will teach you how to consciously run your mind so that you regularly focus your attention in directions that expand your awereness, and thus expand your life experience.

You'll soon discover that that you can shift into a more loving, conscious, intelligent and empowered state of mind whenever you want to, using this Seven Masters method. In my understanding meditation isn't something that you do just once or twice a day for half an hour or so - meditation is a quality of mind that you learn to maintain all day long!

I've developed this new approach to meditation to match our busy lives. Rather than having to stop everything you're doing for half an hour and retreat into meditation, now you can pause for just a few minutes, even just one minute if that's all the time you have free, and shift into a more loving, expanded state of consciousness.

Why Seven Masters?

When I was in my twenties I studied comparative religions and the psychology of meditation with great fervor, and conducted research into mind management and cognitive shifting. What I discovered that at heart, all the great meditation teachers were teaching the same underlying process - but highlighting different dimensions of the process.

As I experimented and unearthed the seven primary expansions of consciousness that happen in all successful meditation sessions, I found that for each of the seven steps of awareness expansion, there was a particular spiritual master who had contributed special insight and techniques.

  • In this meditation process I therefore highlight a particular master for each of the seven steps of the process, to provide a special spiritual depth for each step. (Of course, there is considerable overlap in the teachings of these spiritual masters.)

My intent is not to provoke theological discussion and dogmatic argument by bringing these different spiritual masters together in one meditation process. The intent is to show the harmony of all the different religious traditions, at the meditative level of life.

One Meditation For All

I have chosen five traditional spiritual teachers and two more recent masters to inspire the seven steps of this meditation method. These masters very powerfully represent the primary religious and psychological traditions of the world .

  • My hope is that this new meditation method is used as a universal method for all religions, and also for those of us who are not attached to any religious tradition but seek deep spiritual awakening.

The aim of meditation is first of all to quiet the thinking mind altogether. When the mind becomes quiet, all theological arguments also become quiet. And in this quietness, we open up to deeper spiritual insight and experience where we are all one in spirit, and tuned into the one infinite universal consciousness.

How To Begin

This course is designed to be simple and enjoyable to work with. All you need to do is click on the right for the first class, and then move through the four parts of each class.

Once you've fully learned the first class and it's expansion process, you can move on to the second class and proceed through the four parts of that class.

  • Meditation is a life-long learning process and inner exploration. This course is here both for a beginning training period, and also as your long-term support system for going deeper and deeper ...

So feel free to move through the full training experience fairly quickly in a few weeks - and then return to the first step and go deeper. You will always have a new experience!

  • Especially, you'll want to listen to each of the seven audio meditations over and over. Also take advantage of the 'timed meditations' on the left for a full seven-step meditation experience in various time frames.
